Birds of prey have keen eyesight, sharp talons, and are adept hunters, making them true masters of the skies.  Fortunately for us, Alabama is home to several species of raptors.  During this program, featuring live birds from AWC's education program, you will learn the various features, adaptations, and physical characteristics to help you identify them in the field.  Bring your children and camera to capture the moment!

Eagle Awareness Weekend 1

January 24 - January 26

We are excited to be joining Lake Guntersville State Park for Eagle Awareness Weekend 1 from January 24-26.  This will be a weekend full of live bird demonstrations and programs, including the AWC education raptors (on Sunday, January 26), and guided filed trips to view Bald Eagles in their natural habitat. Wild About Chocolate

February 8 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join us on February 8, 2020 at the Harbert Center for our annual Wild About Chocolate fundraising event. Enjoy entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a silent auction, a live auction, and more, including our education raptors. This year, we are honoring our amazing volunteer veterinarians whose compassion, support, and dedication to AWC’s mission allows us to provide the best care possible to all of our avian patients.
